selamat hari lahir abah

hari ni birthday abah....
andai abah ada lagi hari ni hari lahir abah yang ke 69

masa kecik2 dulu...slalu tak dpt celebrate birthday dgn abah....
sbb abah was rarely home...(i don't blame u nadia..not your fault)
so i hardly could remember giving him presents when i was little
but there was this one time...i got him a tie....and the next day he had a government function he had to handled...i told him he must wear the tie to office tomorrow and he said he would

later that evening he told me...

abah: Dr Mahathir tegur abah tadi
me: kenapa?
abah: sbb abah tak pakai tie utk majlis tadi
me: pastu?
abah: abah ckp kat dia semlm birthday abah, anak abah suh pakai hari ni
me: pastu dia ckp apa?
abah: pastu dia cakap tie anak abah bagi cantik....match dgn baju abah

and i smiled and i was proud he wore my tie that day instead of the protocol's tie....

when i left school and entered tertiary level....i never bothered to even wish him happy birthday....

soon he fell ill....and it came to my mind...if i don't celebrate his birthday i might not have the chance to celebrate it with him again...so i planned a small makan-makan at home to cheer him up since he was no longer able to walk....and i can still remember the smile on his face

and that was his last birthday....

i'm sad but i'm glad....coz i didn't miss his birthday before he left us all....

i might been the most stubborn daughter u've ever had...

and maybe i've never told u this....

i love u abah....
